About the Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for supporting your manager in ensuring that our service user's needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care. As a centre of excellence, you will offer a person-centered approach to their independence and well-being. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse to develop both clinically and professionally by joining our OPAT service (outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy).

Responsibilities

  • Work with an existing IV Nurse Practitioner
  • Cover a Mon-Fri service
  • Provide care for patients with Central / PICC intravenous lines and administer IV medicines
  • Support development in this area through in-house training

Requirements

  • Recent experience of caring for patients with Central / PICC intravenous lines and administering IV medicines is an advantage.
  • Prior experience with treating and advising patients with clinical care, either in and or out of the hospital setting, including nurse-led clinics.
  • Ability to work autonomously and evidence of teaching and training staff, patients, and carers.
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate with all levels of staff in both the acute and Primary Care setting.

To support all aspects of service delivery of a Community IV service for patients attending the Royal United Hospital Bath. This high-quality seamless service crossing organizational and professional boundaries in primary and secondary care will provide a safe alternative to acute hospital care in appropriately selected patients. This will minimize institutionalism, reducing healthcare-associated complications including infections, significantly improving the quality of life of both the patients and their carers at all stages of the care pathway.
