Role Description

The IVA Advisor role at MK Recruitment is a full-time, on-site position based in Bolton. The advisor will support individuals considering or entering Individual Voluntary Arrangements, guiding them through the process and explaining options in a clear, empathetic manner.   • Assessing clients’ financial situations
  • Gathering and verifying documentation
  • Answering queries by phone and email
  • Maintaining accurate records in internal systems
  • Liaising with insolvency practitioners and creditors
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company procedures
  • Following up with clients to provide ongoing support

The role also involves:

  • Meeting performance and quality targets
  • Contributing to a positive team environment
  • Participating in training to stay up to date on IVA and debt solutions

Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and explain IVA and debt solutions, with strong analytical skills for reviewing financial information and client documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including clear telephone manner, active listening, and the ability to build trust with clients in challenging situations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping and data entry.
  • Customer service experience, preferably in financial services, insolvency, or a related advisory role, with a focus on empathy and professionalism.
  • Comfort with computer systems and CRM or case management software, plus proficiency in standard office applications (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets).
  • Knowledge of or interest in UK personal finance, debt solutions, and regulatory requirements (training may be provided for candidates with strong potential).
  • Ability to work effectively in an on-site team environment in Bolton, meet targets, and adapt to changing workloads and priorities.
