About the Role

Stirling Council is seeking a supply Janitor for the school janitor community. The post involves providing janitorial services on an on-demand basis to back-fill absence within the school community throughout the Stirling Council area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing janitorial services via an on-demand basis to back-fill absence within the school community throughout the Stirling Council area.
  • General school janitorial hours are Monday to Friday 07:30 -15:30 (including a 1-hour unpaid break) and is paid at Stirling Council Grade 4.
  • Personal protective equipment will be provided and training where necessary.
  • Applicants will require being physically fit, as porterage and other heavy lifting forms a large part of the role, and be prepared at times to work outdoors in inclement weather.

Ideal Candidate

  • This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wishes to change career path, experience, or improve their knowledge and skills within a school’s janitorial environment.
  • Hours of work can be flexible, and consideration will be applied in relation to work location and home address.
  • A car driver’s licence is essential for the post.
  • Applicants will also require a basic working knowledge of IT and be willing to undertake training to allow them to utilise Stirling Council online training and human resources IT applications.

Requirements

  • The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children and Adults. If your application is progressed after the interview, you will be asked to complete the form and have your details verified.
