Japan Corridor – Business Development Senior Manager

We are looking for a Senior Manager to join the Japan Corridor in our Tax & Legal practice.

KPMG’s Japan Corridor is a growing area of our Tax & Legal business. We serve leading Japan-headquartered companies through high-profile engagements that touch every corner of the world.

We are enhancing our corridor coverage, and we are expanding our team for dedicated sales support. Working alongside the Japan Corridor lead partner, you’ll have the support and tools to create opportunities for our clients – and for your career.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Focusing on Japan-headquartered businesses, build, maintain and lead strong relationships with senior members of client organisations
  • Set effective corridor strategies to ensure we align our priority solutions with clients’ strategies and challenges
  • Originate new business, build pipeline and close sales
  • Publish relevant hot topics and articles in Japanese on LinkedIn and in KPMG newsletters
  • Work closely with the Japan Desk, the Japan Corridor representatives and KPMG member firms in Japan to build relationships
  • Recognise and develop opportunities to further grow the Japan Corridor in the UK
  • Provide effective project management

  • ACA/ATT/CTA qualified or equivalent is preferred but not essential

Experience and Background

  • Relevant sales experience with Japan-headquartered companies, with the ability to drive sales excellence and discipline across the corridor
  • Prior business development experience in a professional services firm is preferred but not essential
  • Excellent written and spoken English, as well as competency in Japanese
  • Energetic, committed and ambitious
  • Identifies and pursues business opportunities
  • Demonstrates a high level of personal responsibility and accountability in teamwork
  • Seeks out feedback and development opportunities
  • Gives clear direction, and positive and constructive feedback
  • Analyses problems, identifies core issues, investigates, evaluates and integrates information
  • Communicates with impact, in a way that is open, honest, consistent and clear
  • Builds the reputation of KPMG through the quality of work, knowledge and experience
  • Monitors and upholds a high quality of service and products to clients (internal and external)
