Japanese speaking Finance Team Assistant

Salary: £35,000–£40,000
Contract: Permanent
Location: Central London, onsite

Responsibilities

Accounting & Cash Management

  • Arrange and manage monthly project funding
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing payments
  • Maintain cash books
  • Manage invoices and related documentation
  • Set up incoming and outgoing payments via online banking
  • Coordinate monthly employee expense claims
  • Manage and consolidate office expenses

Financial Reporting & Audit

  • Handle bookkeeping and liaise with external bookkeeping providers
  • Coordinate accruals and outstanding expenses
  • Support quarterly and annual closing processes, as well as external audits

J-SOX & Internal Audit

  • Support annual J-SOX and internal audit activities
  • Liaise with external audit/consulting firms and the Tokyo head office
  • Coordinate the exchange of relevant documents and materials
  • Respond to queries and requests for information

General Administration

  • Maintain and manage approval documents, contracts, and other records
  • Arrange business travel
  • Provide general IT support
  • Conduct research and prepare reports and other materials as required

Candidate Profile

  • Japanese to mother tongue standard
  • Previous experience in accounting, finance, audit, or a related field is desirable
  • Experience in cash management, financial closing, and employee expense processing is particularly advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to handle numbers and documentation accurately

Visa Requirements

Applicants must hold UK Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), EU/EEA Pre-Settled or Settled Status, or a visa that provides a route to permanent residence in the UK. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
