  • Visa Support May Be Considered - A Japanese ramen restaurant in central London is looking for a Japanese-speaking Shop Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of the restaurant.

The successful individual will be responsible for managing the team, maintaining high standards of customer service, controlling costs and stock, and ensuring smooth and efficient restaurant operations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the restaurant and ensure a high standard of customer service
  • Lead, supervise and train restaurant staff
  • Support staff recruitment and manage daily staff performance
  • Handle cash management and related procedures
  • Manage stock levels, purchasing and supplier orders
  • Monitor labour costs and support profitability improvement
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and handle customer complaints appropriately
  • Establish service standards and implement effective operational workflows
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and food hygiene regulations
  • Carry out and monitor relevant risk assessments
  • Support negotiations relating to catering sales and services
  • Assist with food preparation and presentation as required

Ideal Candidate

  • Several years of supervisory experience within the food service, restaurant or hospitality industry
  • Business level of fluency in Japanese and English
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a busy working environment
  • Flexible approach to working evenings and weekends
  • Able to obtain the appropriate licence required for the sale of alcoholic beverages
  • Relevant health and safety and food hygiene certification
  • Knowledge of carrying out and monitoring relevant risk assessments
  • A qualification or completed programme in hospitality or food service management would be advantageous
  • Strong interest in food and the hospitality industry

  • Salary: negotiable
  • Job Type: full-time
  • Working Hours: 48 hours per week
  • Restaurant Opening Hours: 11:00-23:00
  • Start: ASAP
