About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and optimizing real-time, low-latency data processing platforms that support our clients' mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will bring over eight years of experience in backend application development, with a strong emphasis on building scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-performance systems capable of handling massive data volumes with minimal latency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including data engineers, architects, and product managers to deliver innovative solutions that meet stringent performance and reliability standards.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and streaming technologies such as Kafka. Your expertise will be crucial in developing enterprise-grade backend applications that efficiently capture, process, transform, and distribute real-time data across multiple platforms. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex systems that require meticulous performance tuning, resilience, and scalability, contributing directly to the technological advancement of our clients’ operations.

Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in backend application development using Java, with a focus on Java 17+.
- Proven expertise in building ultra-low-latency systems capable of processing millions of events or transactions daily.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, and event streaming solutions.
- Knowledge of Change Data Capture (CDC) technologies such as Debezium.
- Experience working with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Proficiency in performance engineering, JVM tuning, and concurrency optimization.
- Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, low-latency, fault-tolerant backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build and optimize real-time data processing solutions for high-volume transactional systems, ensuring minimal latency and high throughput.
- Develop event-driven architectures leveraging messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka to facilitate real-time data flows.
- Architect and implement microservices-based applications, ensuring modularity, scalability, and maintainability.
- Perform performance profiling, system tuning, and resource optimization to enhance application efficiency.
- Create APIs and backend services that support sub-second response times, ensuring seamless integration with front-end and other systems.
- Design distributed systems capable of handling high data throughput while maintaining system resilience and fault tolerance.
- Implement resilient system patterns including caching, asynchronous processing, and circuit breakers to enhance system robustness.
- Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the development team.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective measures to ensure system stability.
