Java & C++ Software Developer – Vault
We’re looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our Vault team and help develop and support technology at the heart of secure, reliable transaction processing.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys working across different technologies rather than being confined to a single language or layer of the stack. You’ll work with TypeScript, C++ and Java, alongside AWS and Linux-based environments, solving complex technical problems and building software that needs to perform reliably in a transaction-focused environment.
The opportunity
As a Software Engineer within Vault, you’ll be involved across the development lifecycle – designing and developing software, creating automated tests and test harnesses, troubleshooting issues and helping ensure our solutions can be built, tested and deployed consistently.
You’ll work across multiple technology layers, so we’re looking for someone who is naturally curious and comfortable getting underneath a problem. One day you might be working within an application or integration; the next you could be investigating a Linux environment, improving automated testing or working through an issue within our AWS infrastructure.

Quality and automation will be an important part of your role. You’ll help develop automated tests and test harnesses that give us confidence in our software, while working with CI/CD pipelines and automated build and test processes to continuously improve how we deliver.
You’ll also be comfortable working within Unix/Ubuntu environments, using shell commands and scripts to configure environments, investigate problems and support development workflows.
What you’ll bring
We're looking for someone with strong hands-on software engineering experience and, importantly, the ability to demonstrate practical experience across TypeScript, C++ and Java.
You'll also bring:
- Experience designing and developing automated tests and test harnesses.
- Practical experience working with AWS and Linux/Unix environments.
- An understanding of CI/CD, automated build and testing processes, GitHub and good source-control practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to work across different applications, technologies and environments.
- Experience with payments, financial systems, transaction processing or related integrations.
