Role 2: Java & Cloud-Native Specialist
Position Overview
Mandatory Skills: Java, Kafka, AWS Infrastructure Services, GCP DevOps
Location: London (Hybrid - 3 days per week in the office)
Employment Type: Permanent / Full-Time Employee (FTE)
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist with 5 to 7 years of professional experience in Core Java, React, and cloud-native architectures. In this role, you will design, develop, and support scalable, high-performance applications tailored specifically for the investment banking sector.
Key Responsibilities & Technical Duties
- Architect and build dependable applications utilizing Core Java, ReactJS, and their associated ecosystems.
- Apply advanced multithreading techniques, data structures, and algorithms to implement efficient, high-scale software solutions.
- Create and maintain cloud-native deployments leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Kubernetes.
- Establish smooth front-to-back integration by implementing robust RESTful APIs and gRPC protocols.
- Develop fluid, highly intuitive user interfaces with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3, managing state with tools like Redux or Context API.
- Integrate Apache Kafka to enable real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures.
- Incorporate Apache Ignite to serve as an in-memory data grid and caching framework.
- Partner with cross-functional business units to gather and unpack requirements, focusing heavily on investment banking operations and risk systems.
- Enforce strict code quality metrics through comprehensive testing coverage and engineering best practices.
- Proactively research and adopt new advancements across financial technology, Java, React, and cloud spaces.
- Isolate, debug, and troubleshoot complex application defects to optimize processing speed and uptime.
- Produce clear documentation tracking structural design, application architecture, and deployment procedures.

Leadership & Agile Coordination
- Spearhead technical execution and development sprints across the full Java, React, and cloud-native stacks.
- Provide end-to-end oversight on integration pathways via clean REST and gRPC service patterns.
- Work hand-in-hand with DevOps teams to reinforce CI/CD pipelines and automate applications across AWS and Kubernetes environments.
- Coach and mentor less experienced engineering team members on Core Java, ReactJS, event streaming, and cloud architectures.
- Fully participate in standard Agile rituals, including sprint planning sessions, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Maintain deep accountability over safety guidelines, security compliance standards, and corporate development protocols.
- Keep performance metrics optimized by monitoring production environments and implementing iterative enhancements.
- Quickly triage and address live production bugs to guarantee high availability across critical workflows.
