Full Stack Engineer
Location: Sheffield, UK
Work Mode: Hybrid – 2–3 days per week onsite

Role Overview
We are looking for Senior Full Stack Engineers to join a team building a Client Due Diligence (CDD) system supporting onboarding and KYC activities within Corporate and Institutional Banking.
This is a highly hands-on engineering role involving the development of backend microservices, UI applications, and databases. The role also involves contributing to architecture, technical design, engineering standards, and the delivery of high-quality software into production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver production-quality applications using Java 21+ and microservices architecture.
- Design, build, and maintain backend microservices and RESTful APIs.
- Develop and enhance ReactJS-based UI applications.
- Design and work with PostgreSQL databases and schemas.
- Contribute to wider microservices architecture and technical design.
- Deliver software changes to production efficiently and reliably.
- Follow and promote modern engineering practices including testing, code reviews, CI/CD, documentation, and operational readiness.
- Collaborate with business and engineering stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Identify technical risks, remove impediments, and support continuous improvement.
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement automated/programmatic solutions.
- Support services running in Docker containers on Kubernetes within GCP.
- Collaborate effectively with globally distributed engineering teams.
- For senior-level profiles, provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and help drive engineering standards across the team.

Essential Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of software engineering experience; 6+ years for the higher-level position.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, preferably Java 21+.
- Experience designing and developing microservices and microservice architectures.
- Strong experience developing and delivering RESTful APIs.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including database/schema design.
- Strong hands-on experience with ReactJS.
- Good experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of GCP.
- Good experience with CI/CD and modern software development practices.
- Experience delivering applications into production.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Senior profiles should also have experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, and driving engineering best practices.
