The Role
- Work within a Scrum team to deliver common and technical components for a large government programme.
- Build and support services deployed onto Kubernetes platforms, focusing on deployment, automation, and operational excellence.
- Contribute to technical design, engineering standards, and Agile delivery practices.
- Collaborate with application teams to deploy and manage services on Kubernetes, aiding in cloud-native adoption.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring within a Java engineering team.
- Engage stakeholders and drive quality-focused delivery for applications hosted on container platforms.

What You'll Need
- Strong experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3+.
- Proficiency in Kubernetes and containerised application delivery.
- Expertise with Helm for managing Kubernetes applications.
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with observability tooling such as OpenSearch, Grafana, Prometheus, or Dynatrace.
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience and the ability to coach engineers.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
- Experience with AWS is highly desirable.
