About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer specialized in SIP/VoIP technologies to join our client's dynamic team on a six-month contract basis, inside IR35. This hybrid role based in Ipswich offers an exciting opportunity to work within the telecommunications sector, focusing on developing and enhancing next-generation voice and communications platforms. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing scalable, innovative solutions that leverage cloud technologies and AI-driven voice services, contributing significantly to the company's mission of delivering cutting-edge telecoms services.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in Java development within telecom or voice environments. Proven experience with SIP, VoIP, RTP/RTCP, and SDP protocols is essential. Familiarity with frameworks such as JAIN SLEE and SIP Servlet, as well as experience supporting voice platforms like FreeSWITCH and Asterisk, is highly desirable. Candidates should have hands-on experience deploying solutions across cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills related to voice quality, call routing, and network performance. A good understanding of telecom security protocols including TLS and SRTP, along with knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes, will be advantageous.

Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance SIP-based voice applications using Java, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Work with JAIN SLEE and SIP Servlet frameworks to design and implement voice solutions.
- Support and integrate various voice platforms including FreeSWITCH and Asterisk, ensuring seamless operation and interoperability.
- Deploy and support voice solutions across cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, maintaining optimal performance and security.
- Integrate advanced speech recognition and AI-driven voice services, including Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech functionalities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to voice quality, call routing, and network performance to ensure a reliable user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative voice solutions aligned with business goals.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of development processes and system configurations.
