About The Role

As a Java Developer (m/w/d) at SEITENBAU, you will be at the heart of developing innovative software solutions that contribute to societal progress and digitalization efforts within Germany. The role offers flexibility with options to work from Konstanz, Berlin, or remotely, providing a balanced work environment tailored to your preferences. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing user stories in Java
  • Developing automated tests to ensure high-quality code
  • Participating in code reviews and pair programming sessions
  • Working with established CI/CD pipelines, optimizing workflows to enhance deployment processes

The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, a passion for technology, and the ability to adapt to evolving project needs.

Qualifications

  • A completed degree or comparable qualification in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge in Java application development using modern frameworks such as Spring Boot or similar, along with tools like Jenkins and GIT.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, or Podman, especially within cloud environments.
  • Basic understanding of containerization concepts and a keen interest in DevOps practices.
  • Interest in integrating AI tools into software development, with the ability to evaluate and apply them critically.
  • Enthusiasm for agile methodologies and a motivation to continuously learn new technologies and trends.
  • Excellent German language skills (minimum C1 level).

Responsibilities

  • Engage deeply with client requirements to develop tailored software solutions.
  • Design, implement, and test Java-based applications, ensuring functionality and performance.
  • Develop automated testing frameworks to maintain high code quality standards.
  • Conduct code reviews and participate in pair programming sessions to promote knowledge sharing and code excellence.
  • Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment and integration processes.
  • Collaborate within agile teams, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends, integrating relevant tools and practices into daily work.
