About The Role
We are currently seeking experienced Java Developers to join our client's dynamic team for a series of innovative projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud-based services, contributing to the full development lifecycle from initial design and development through testing and deployment. The successful candidates will be instrumental in delivering scalable, reliable solutions that meet the organization’s strategic objectives.
The position is initially a 6-month contract, inside IR35, with a daily rate of £500. There is potential for flexibility on rates depending on experience and skill set. The role requires obtaining SC clearance, which the organization is willing to facilitate. Candidates should be prepared to work onsite in Newcastle three days a week, fostering close collaboration with the team and ensuring seamless project delivery.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, with proven experience in cloud services and scalable application design. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of software development principles, testing methodologies, and deployment processes. Relevant qualifications include a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with professional certifications in Java or cloud technologies.
Experience with SC clearance or the ability to obtain it is essential. Additionally, familiarity with DevSecOps practices, containerization, and orchestration platforms will be advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are also important for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust Java applications tailored for cloud environments.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Implement unit tests and ensure code quality through continuous integration and delivery practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical specifications and deliver scalable solutions.
- Utilize cloud services and platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes to deploy and manage applications.
- Contribute to DevSecOps initiatives by integrating security practices into the development pipeline using tools like SonarQube, Tekton, or ArgoCD.
- Maintain documentation and provide technical support to ensure system stability and performance.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve development processes.
