The Opportunity
We're looking for a talented Java Developer to join a delivery-focused engineering team building modern, scalable applications within a fast-paced Agile environment.
This role is ideal for a developer who is passionate about software engineering best practices, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and takes pride in delivering high-quality, maintainable code. You'll work across the full development lifecycle, contributing to the design, development, testing, and deployment of enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services.
- Build scalable, resilient solutions using the Spring Framework or similar technologies.
- Contribute to system design and architecture discussions.
- Develop high-quality code using Test-Driven Development (TDD) and modern engineering practices.
- Support containerised deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated delivery practices.
- Collaborate with developers, testers, architects, and product teams within Agile delivery teams.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, security, and quality standards.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience with Java development.
- Experience with Spring Framework (or equivalent).
- Solid understanding of software design patterns and their practical application.
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle and engineering best practices.
- Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
- Experience working with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines.
- Passion for code quality, automated testing, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).

Desirable Skills
- Experience with Kafka.
- Experience with IBM MQ / MQ Series.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
