About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our expanding engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building modern, cloud-based microservices platforms that support enterprise-scale systems. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing robust backend services, working closely with cross-functional teams, and embracing modern engineering practices. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on large-scale projects, collaborate with senior engineers and architects, and enhance your technical expertise in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial Java development experience.
- Strong knowledge of Spring Boot framework.
- Experience working within Agile Scrum teams.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and REST API development.
- Passion for writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Familiarity with cloud deployment environments, preferably AWS.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker is advantageous.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or SonarQube is desirable.
- Exposure to automated testing and TDD practices.
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC) is mandatory due to client project requirements.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services using Java (JDK 11+) and Spring Boot framework.
- Create scalable microservices and RESTful APIs to support enterprise applications.
- Participate actively in Agile Scrum methodologies, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Assist in deploying applications to cloud environments, primarily AWS.
- Contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and automated testing practices.
- Collaborate with technical leads, QA testers, and DevOps engineers to ensure seamless delivery of solutions.
- Implement best practices for code quality, security, and performance optimization.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate innovative solutions into projects.
