About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer specialized in SIP/VoIP to join our client’s dynamic team on a 6-month contract basis, inside IR35. This role is based in Ipswich with a hybrid working model, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge voice and communications platforms within the telecommunications industry. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and supporting large-scale telecom services, leveraging cloud technologies and AI-powered voice solutions. This position offers a challenging yet rewarding environment for professionals passionate about telecommunications, cloud computing, and innovative voice technologies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Java development with a focus on telecom and voice applications. Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with proven industry experience. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in SIP, VoIP, RTP/RTCP, and SDP protocols, along with familiarity with frameworks such as JAIN SLEE and SIP Servlet. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is essential, as is a solid understanding of troubleshooting within telecom environments. Knowledge of voice platform support tools like FreeSWITCH and Asterisk, and familiarity with AI-driven voice services, will be advantageous. Certifications in cloud technologies or telecom standards are a plus.

Responsibilities
- Developing and enhancing SIP-based voice applications using Java, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Working with JAIN SLEE and SIP Servlet frameworks to design and implement voice solutions.
- Supporting and integrating voice platforms such as FreeSWITCH and Asterisk.
- Deploying solutions across cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Integrating advanced speech recognition and synthesis services, including Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech, as well as AI-powered voice solutions to improve user experience.
- Troubleshooting voice quality issues, call routing, and network performance problems to maintain service excellence.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of telecom services, adhering to security protocols and industry standards.
