What You Would Do
Typical responsibilities could include:
- Contributing to the design and development of Java-based applications using Spring Boot and Spring frameworks
- Building and maintaining APIs and microservices within distributed systems
- Writing clean, maintainable code and participating in code reviews
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver features and resolve technical challenges
- Working with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS to deploy and manage applications
- Contributing to CI/CD pipeline improvements and containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes
- Supporting the full software development lifecycle from design through to deployment and maintenance

What You Could Bring
Most roles of this type require the following:
Must-have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- Proven experience developing applications in Java, with strong knowledge of Spring Boot and Spring frameworks
- Experience building and consuming APIs and working with microservices architecture
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
- Experience with version control systems and CI/CD practices
- Working knowledge of Docker and containerisation concepts
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in agile teams
Nice-to-have
- Oracle Certified Professional: Java SE Programmer or Oracle Certified Associate: Java SE certification
- Spring Professional certification (VMware)
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP
- Experience with Kubernetes orchestration
- Familiarity with Linux environments
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
- Knowledge of distributed systems design patterns
