About The Role

The Damia Group Ltd is currently seeking a highly skilled SC Cleared Java Developer for a temporary contract of over three months, with the possibility of extension. This role is primarily remote, based in the UK, and involves working within a secure environment that requires UK Security Vetting at SC/DV level. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining agentic AI solutions, utilizing frameworks such as Open AI, Anthropic, or Copilot, with a preference for experience in Open AI. The role demands a proactive individual capable of working independently on complex tasks, managing dependencies across teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions in a secure setting. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to critical projects within a multidisciplinary team, supporting national security initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Java Developer, with a strong understanding of Java programming language and related technologies.
  • Experience in agentic AI development, particularly with frameworks such as Open AI (preferred), Anthropic, or Copilot.
  • Previous involvement in designing and documenting technical solutions, including reviewing and updating Low-Level Designs (LLDs).
  • Ability to write comprehensive unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Experience conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to team members.
  • Familiarity with dependency management and collaboration with database and front-end development teams.
  • Security clearance at SC level or eligibility to obtain such clearance, with an understanding of UK security vetting processes.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently within a structured delivery environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement agentic AI solutions using frameworks such as Open AI, Anthropic, or Copilot, ensuring alignment with project goals and security standards.
  • Document design intent clearly and ensure quality assurance of all design documentation to facilitate future maintenance and scalability.
  • Manage dependencies effectively by coordinating with database and front-end developers, ensuring seamless integration across components.
  • Write and maintain high-quality unit tests for all delivered tickets, promoting code reliability and robustness.
  • Update Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and technical documentation regularly to reflect project progress and changes.
  • Conduct code reviews on backend tickets, providing mentorship and ensuring adherence to best practices and security protocols.
  • Work under the guidance of the client delivery manager within an established delivery framework, following best practices and organizational standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and collaborative activities to support project delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with security clearance requirements and assist in the vetting process as needed.
