About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer with expertise in SIP/VoIP technologies to join our client's dynamic team on a 6-month contract basis, inside IR35. This role is based in Ipswich with a hybrid working model, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation voice and communication platforms. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale telecom services, leveraging cloud technologies and AI-powered voice solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative voice applications and ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of telecom systems.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Java development, with proven experience in telecom and voice communication environments. A comprehensive understanding of SIP, VoIP, RTP/RTCP, and SDP protocols is essential. Candidates should have hands-on experience with SIP frameworks such as JAIN SLEE and SIP Servlet, as well as familiarity with voice platforms like FreeSWITCH and Asterisk. Cloud platform experience across AWS, Azure, or GCP is required, along with excellent troubleshooting skills in telecoms or voice environments. A degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant certifications in cloud or telecom technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance SIP-based voice applications using Java, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Work with JAIN SLEE and SIP Servlet frameworks to build robust voice communication solutions.
- Support and integrate voice platforms including FreeSWITCH and Asterisk, ensuring seamless operation and interoperability.
- Deploy and manage voice solutions across cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, optimizing for security and efficiency.
- Integrate advanced speech services including Speech-to-Text, Text-to-Speech, and AI-driven voice functionalities to enhance user experience.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to voice quality, call routing, and network performance to maintain high service availability.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to implement new features and improve existing systems.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and updates for knowledge sharing and compliance.
