About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with a focus on SIP/VoIP technologies to join our client's dynamic team on a 6-month contract basis, inside IR35. This role is based in Ipswich with a hybrid work model, offering flexibility to work both remotely and on-site. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and enhancing next-generation voice and communications platforms for a leading telecoms company. You will work on large-scale telecom services, leveraging cloud technologies, AI-powered voice solutions, and innovative communication protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge voice solutions, troubleshoot complex telecom issues, and support the deployment of scalable voice applications across various cloud platforms.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Java development, with hands-on experience in telecoms and voice communication systems. You should have a solid understanding of SIP, VoIP, RTP/RTCP, and SDP protocols, along with experience working with SIP frameworks such as JAIN SLEE and SIP Servlet. Familiarity with voice platforms like FreeSWITCH and Asterisk is essential. Cloud experience across AWS, Azure, or GCP is required, demonstrating your ability to deploy and support telecom solutions in cloud environments. Strong troubleshooting skills within telecoms or voice environments are crucial to identify and resolve issues efficiently. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Developing and enhancing SIP-based voice applications using Java, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Working with frameworks such as JAIN SLEE and SIP Servlet to build scalable voice solutions, supporting and integrating voice platforms including FreeSWITCH and Asterisk.
- Deployment of solutions across cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP, requiring you to manage cloud infrastructure and ensure seamless integration.
- Integrating advanced speech services such as Speech-to-Text, Text-to-Speech, and AI-driven voice functionalities to improve user experience.
- Troubleshooting voice quality issues, call routing, and network performance problems, requiring analytical skills and technical expertise.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative voice solutions and maintaining documentation for system configurations and processes.
