About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and modernizing our platform that enables control owners and development teams to manage and monitor their compliance with various software development controls. Your primary responsibility will involve re-platforming an existing application from a vendor platform (PCF) to an internal "bring your own code" (BYOC) platform, ensuring a smooth transition while enhancing the application's functionality and performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including testers, product owners, and other developers, to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient software solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a strategic transformation initiative, modernize legacy systems, and implement innovative features in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in modern Java development (Java 11+), with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
- Hands-on experience designing and building microservices architecture applications.
- Familiarity with graph databases, particularly Neo4j, is desirable.
- Experience in modernizing legacy Java applications to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Proficiency in designing and developing RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless integration across platforms.
- Experience with front-end development using HTML5, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Angular.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
- Experience with BDD and TDD methodologies, utilizing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, and Cucumber for automated testing.
- Knowledge of dependency management, upgrades, and remediation of vulnerabilities within Java applications.
- Experience working within Agile methodologies, utilizing tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with developers, testers, and other stakeholders to build, test, and deploy high-quality software products.
- Design, develop, and implement back-end features aligned with project priorities, with a focus on microservices and API development.
- Participate in the re-platforming of applications from vendor platforms to internal BYOC platforms, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.
- Modernize existing legacy Java applications by refactoring code, resolving dependencies, and upgrading components to current standards.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices that support various application functionalities and integrations.
- Contribute to the development of front-end components using HTML5, JavaScript, and Angular to enhance user experience.
- Work within an agile CI/CD environment, delivering iterative improvements and rapid deployment cycles.
- Engage in peer reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration practices to uphold code quality and reliability.
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, dependencies conflicts, and vulnerabilities to ensure system stability and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and deliver innovative solutions.
