We’re recruiting Java Developers for public-sector digital programmes, with opportunities focused on Java/Spring Boot services or Java/Kotlin backend development.
Available assignments
Java/Spring Boot
- Rate: £350 or £435 per day
- Location: Leeds and other regional hubs outside London
- Onsite: Aim of 60% onsite, potentially negotiable, plus monthly travel
- Requirements: Java, Spring Boot, Kafka and MongoDB experience required
Java/Kotlin
- Rate: £485 per day
- Location: Leeds, Manchester or London, with office travel dependent on the team
- Requirements: Hands-on Java, Kotlin and Spring Boot experience required

What you’ll do
- Design, develop and maintain backend services.
- Translate requirements into maintainable, well-tested code.
- Integrate services with supporting systems and data stores.
- Contribute to automated testing, code reviews and reliable releases.
- Work with engineers and delivery specialists to resolve technical problems.
- Share knowledge and contribute positively to the team’s technical direction.
What we’re looking for
Strong backend Java and Spring Boot development experience, with a collaborative approach to software delivery.

The Java/Spring Boot assignments also require:
- Docker basics
- TDD/BDD and CI/CD experience
- Kafka and MongoDB experience
Desirable for Java/Spring Boot assignments:
- AWS services
- GitLab CI
- Cucumber
- Load testing
- Kubernetes/ECS
For the Java/Kotlin assignment:
- Kotlin experience is specifically required
The additional Kafka/MongoDB requirements belong to the Java/Spring Boot assignments.
