Role Overview

We are looking for a talented Java Developer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance applications. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of Java and is enthusiastic about working with the latest tools and frameworks. You will play a critical role in building scalable, high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Application development: Design, develop, and implement Java applications using modern development tools and best practices.
  • Code quality: Write clean, scalable code and take part in code reviews to maintain quality.
  • API integration: Develop and integrate RESTful APIs for seamless communication between systems and applications.
  • Debugging and testing: Identify, troubleshoot, and fix defects, and carry out unit and integration tests.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and understand requirements, and take part in design discussions.
  • Performance optimisation: Make sure applications are optimised for speed, scalability, and performance.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • SC cleared or SC eligible.
  • Java: Strong hands-on experience with Java SE and Java EE, writing efficient and effective code.
  • Frameworks: Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Struts.
  • Databases: Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL, and experience writing SQL queries.
  • APIs and web services: Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and XML.
  • Version control: Experience with Git or similar.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Teamwork: Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with microservices architecture.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, Angular, or React.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Java certifications, such as Oracle Certified Professional.
