Hiring: Java Developer – Spring Boot Microservices | Glasgow, UK
We are hiring an experienced Java Developer with strong Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and backend development expertise in Glasgow, UK.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java backend development, Microservices architecture, RESTful API development, trading systems, financial messaging, and financial instruments, including structured products and derivatives.
Job Details
Role: Java Developer
Location: Glasgow, UK
Work Mode: Hybrid – 2–3 days WFO per week
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Experience Required: 10+ Years
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
- Participate in project analysis, technical design, implementation, and commissioning phases.
- Analyze business requirements, assess technical impacts, and prepare Low-Level Design (LLD) documents.
- Collaborate with Platform Design teams on Microservices design and architecture.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and assumptions throughout project delivery.
- Build secure, scalable, robust, and low-latency RESTful APIs and event-driven APIs.
- Develop and maintain trading adaptors that translate internal data models into standard trading protocols.
- Ensure high reliability, accurate transaction processing, detailed logging, and compliance with auditing standards.
- Develop robust backend services for financial trading applications.
- Work with financial messaging formats, trading protocols, and order execution logic.
- Apply knowledge of financial instruments, particularly structured products and derivatives.

- 10+ years of overall IT experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java development.
- Extensive experience with Spring Boot and Microservices.
- Strong backend programming and API development expertise.
- Experience building secure, robust, scalable, and low-latency RESTful APIs.
- Understanding of event-driven architecture and Microservices design.
- Experience with technical analysis and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation.
- Knowledge of financial messaging formats, trading adaptors, and order execution logic.
- Understanding of financial instruments, structured products, and derivatives.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
