Are you a Java Software Engineer looking to make a real impact in a growing technology business?

As part of a collaborative engineering team, you'll play a key role in developing and maintaining scalable software products, contributing to technical decisions, and helping deliver high-quality solutions that support ongoing business growth.

The Role
As a Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for building, enhancing, and supporting business-critical applications using Java. You'll work closely with fellow developers, technical stakeholders, and product teams to deliver robust software solutions while contributing to engineering best practices.
Over time, there may also be opportunities to gain exposure to additional technologies including C# and Perl.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain software components based on business requirements.
- Contribute to technical discussions and support solution design activities.
- Deliver high-quality, maintainable code in line with engineering standards.
- Provide 3rd Line production support and help resolve issues within agreed service levels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve application issues.
- Support deployment, release, and integration activities.
- Identify technical risks and escalate concerns where appropriate.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the development function.

About You

Essential Skills & Experience
- Commercial experience developing applications in Java.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of back-end systems, APIs, and data processing.
- Experience working on web-based applications.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Experience collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workload and deadlines effectively.
