About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer specializing in SIP and VoIP technologies to join our client's dynamic team on a 6-month contract basis, based in Ipswich with a hybrid work model. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and enhancement of next-generation voice and communication platforms within the telecommunications industry. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering large-scale telecom services, leveraging cloud technologies, and integrating AI-powered voice solutions to improve service quality and user experience.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with proven experience in Java development within telecom or voice environments. Relevant qualifications include a degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field. Candidates should demonstrate hands-on experience with SIP, VoIP, RTP/RTCP, and SDP protocols, along with familiarity with frameworks such as JAIN SLEE and SIP Servlet. Cloud platform experience across AWS, Azure, or GCP is essential, complemented by excellent troubleshooting skills. Certifications related to cloud services, telecom security, or Java development are advantageous.

Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance SIP-based voice applications utilizing Java, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Work with JAIN SLEE and SIP Servlet frameworks to build reliable communication services.
- Support and integrate voice platforms including FreeSWITCH and Asterisk, ensuring seamless operation and interoperability.
- Deploy, monitor, and support voice solutions across cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Integrate advanced speech recognition and synthesis services, including Speech-to-Text, Text-to-Speech, and AI-driven voice functionalities.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to voice quality, call routing, and network performance to maintain optimal service delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and improve voice communication systems.
- Stay updated with emerging telecom technologies and incorporate best practices into the development lifecycle.
