About The Company

Solirius Reply, part of the Reply Group, delivers technical consultancy and application delivery to our clients in order to solve real-world problems and allow our clients to respond to an ever-changing technical landscape. We partner closely with our clients, embedding our consultants into their businesses in order to provide a bespoke service, allowing us to truly understand our clients' needs.

It is this close collaboration with our clients that has enabled us to grow rapidly in recent years and will drive our ambitious future growth plans. We currently have over 300 consultants working with a variety of key clients from both the public and private sectors such as the Ministry of Justice, Department for Education, FCDOS, UEFA, International Olympic Committee and Mercedes Benz; with plans to increase our client base further in the near future.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Engineer with AI expertise to design, develop, and deploy intelligent, scalable applications. You will work at the intersection of backend engineering and artificial intelligence, building systems that integrate machine learning models, data pipelines, and cloud-native services.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about clean architecture, performance optimization, and applying AI technologies to real-world business challenges. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance our clients' capabilities and drive digital transformation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing robust backend systems
  • Integrating AI/ML models into production environments
  • Ensuring the scalability and security of the applications
  • Deploying solutions on cloud platforms
  • Contributing to architectural decisions
  • Maintaining high standards of code quality through CI/CD pipelines

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Strong experience with Java 12+ and Spring Boot
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture
  • Experience in integrating AI/ML solutions into backend systems
  • Good grasp of REST APIs, distributed systems, and database design
  • Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with containerisation technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Java-based ML libraries
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java-based applications to meet client requirements
  • Integrate AI/ML models into scalable, production-grade backend systems ensuring seamless deployment and operation
  • Build RESTful APIs and microservices using modern Java frameworks to facilitate efficient data exchange and system integration
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists and AI specialists to deploy and scale machine learning solutions effectively
  • Optimize system performance, scalability, and security to ensure reliable and efficient operations
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and integration processes, maintaining high code quality standards
  • Work with cloud platforms to deploy AI-powered services, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and highly available
  • Contribute to architectural decisions, technical roadmaps, and best practices to guide project development
  • Stay updated with emerging AI and backend technologies, applying innovative solutions to client projects
