Rate: £600.00 - £620.00 per day (Inside IR35)

Duration: 6 Months

Location: Telford (Minimum 2 days per week onsite)

Clearance Required: BPSS (SC Eligible)

The Opportunity

We're looking for a skilled Java Engineer to join a major digital transformation programme focused on modernising legacy services and delivering improved, scalable solutions within a large-scale technology environment.

Working as part of an Agile Scrum team, you'll contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of modern Java-based applications, helping to drive the transformation of critical business systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Java applications using modern engineering practices.
  • Design and build scalable services using Spring Boot.
  • Write automated tests and contribute to a quality-first engineering culture.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and Test Engineers within Agile delivery teams.
  • Support the modernisation of legacy applications and services.
  • Contribute to technical design discussions and code reviews.
  • Follow CI/CD and DevOps best practices to ensure reliable delivery.
