Job Title: Java Engineer: IG Prime

Job Description

About IG Group

IG Group is a FTSE 100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 1.4 million customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions – built on scale, trust, and proof. We didn't pivot to innovation; it's how we've always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that's rare in established businesses.

The bar is high – bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we'll give you the platform to define what comes next.

Join us at IG – the future gets built here.

Your Team

Our engineering team sits within the IG Prime, strengthening IG’s institutional client offering. Our FIX Integrations team builds and maintains the APIs that power IG’s connectivity with institutional clients and partners across global markets. We’re responsible for delivering resilient, high-performance trading and market data integrations that underpin some of IG’s most critical client experiences.

You will play a key role in creating a new suite of robust trading APIs in the cloud.

Your Role in the Team’s Success

You'll be at the heart of IG's institutional growth strategy—building the APIs that traders rely on every day. Your work directly enables IG Prime to onboard new clients, expand into new markets, and deliver the low-latency, reliable connectivity that institutional traders demand. You'll help grow the product offering by designing and delivering new API capabilities that meet evolving client needs. Whether you're shipping new features, hardening existing services, or collaborating with stakeholders to solve integration challenges, your contributions will have a real impact.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
