Role - Java Kotlin Developer
Location - Burgess Hill, UK (3 days hybrid)
Type - Contract (Inside IR35) or Fixed Term for 1 year
Rate - 300 GBP/Day or 72K GBP/Annum
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Java and Kotlin.
- Build clean, scalable, maintainable, and high-performance code.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Work with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar technologies.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues.
- Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure application quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and estimation.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.

Required Skills

- Strong programming experience in Java and Kotlin.
- Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design principles.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, or similar technologies.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP, and microservices.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with Git and version-control workflows.
- Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
- Experience writing unit tests using frameworks such as JUnit or Mockito.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
