Java Kotlin DevRel Engineer

Job Description:
Role:
Build adoption accelerators and implement Golden Path delivery, including reusable patterns and reference implementations aligned with app ways of working. Produce worked examples from real projects to serve as reusable accelerators and adoption media. Contribute to code pipelines and automation to reduce friction in onboarding and repeatable delivery. Focus on self-service onboarding to enable teams to progress without extensive handholding.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain Golden Path templates.
- Produce worked examples from real projects designed to double as reusable accelerators and adoption media.
- Contribute to code pipelines and automation to reduce friction in onboarding and repeatable delivery.
- Improve self-service onboarding journeys to ensure teams can progress without extensive handholding.
- Create and maintain onboarding guides, operational guidance, and runbook-style content to help teams reach production confidently.
- Help reduce bespoke onboarding by standardizing workflows and improving automation.

Developer Experience Advocacy:
- Participate in feedback channels, office hours, champions networks, Teams emailing, and app ratings where available.
- Triage issues and pain points into items DevRel can build/fix directly and items to be driven to the owning pillar team with clear acceptance criteria.
- Track to closure by ensuring the right team is engaged and progress is visible.
- Write and maintain high-quality documentation content for the platform docs, including onboarding, how-tos, troubleshooting, and reference material.
- Ensure new/updated assets ship with documentation as part of the Definition of Done and release readiness expectations.
- Keep content fresh and discoverable; propose improvements to doc structure, navigation, and time to answer.
Developer Enablement and Narrative Support Delivery Focused:
- Support internal communications and technical engagement through short talks, show and tells, workshops, and mob programming sessions.
- Help maintain clear adoption pathways and migration guidance in partnership with product, engineering, and architecture.
- Contribute to communications that make developers confident about what exists, what's coming, and how to get value quickly.

Essential Candidate Requirements:
- Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or Node.js.
- Strong communicator to all levels of seniority.
- Solid understanding of production readiness fundamentals, security, resilience, observability, and supportability.
- Strong hands-on engineering experience delivering production-grade systems. Experience delivering app platforms is a plus but not necessary.
- Practical experience improving developer experience via standardization, automation, and making the easy thing the right thing.
- Comfortable working across teams, product engineering, architecture, risk control to make guidance accurate and usable.
