We’re working with a leading organisation in the energy sector that is investing heavily in digital trading technology and building a new team focused on modern, high-performance trading platforms. We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong Java and distributed systems experience to join this growing team.

You’ll be working on the design and development of high-throughput, event-driven trading systems supporting automated and quantitative trading across energy markets.

Responsibilities

  • Building core trading platform components and services
  • Developing distributed, event-driven and high-performance systems
  • Working with real-time market data and messaging
  • Developing exchange/venue connectivity and trading infrastructure
  • Designing solutions around replay, recovery and sequencing
  • Building and deploying cloud-native services using AWS
  • Improving observability, reliability and production performance
  • Working closely with traders, quantitative developers and technical architects
  • Contributing to the evolution of automated and digital trading platforms

Key Skills

  • Strong Java development skills
  • Excellent understanding of concurrency and multithreading
  • Experience building distributed or high-throughput systems
  • Strong Linux experience

  • Good understanding of production engineering, monitoring and observability
  • Strong problem-solving and system-design skills
