Java Production Support Engineer
Insight Global are seeking a Java Production Support Engineer for a leading global financial services organisation.
This position requires 5 days onsite in London, UK for a 6-month initial contract with potential extensions and is Inside IR35.
The successful candidate will join a Front Office technology team, providing end-to-end production support for critical trading and business applications. This role focuses on ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of systems used by traders and operations teams, whilst proactively identifying and resolving technical issues. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong troubleshooting skills, and be comfortable engaging with stakeholders across both technical and business functions.

Qualifications:
- Strong experience within Production Support, Application Support, or Production Engineering environments.
- Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language such as Java.
- Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience working within dynamic, high-pressure environments supporting business-critical applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.
- Proven stakeholder management and relationship-building experience across multiple levels of an organisation.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end production support for business-critical Front Office applications and trading systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and user issues, minimising impact to business operations.
- Analyse incidents, perform root cause investigations, and implement preventative measures.
- Participate in problem management activities to improve long-term system stability and reliability.
- Work closely with traders, operations teams, and technology stakeholders to ensure seamless application performance.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders of varying seniority levels, providing regular updates and technical guidance where required.
