Java Backend Microservices Engineer
Location: Manchester, UK
Work Model: Hybrid – Mandatory 2 days per week onsite

Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Microservices Engineer to work on a critical project for one of our leading clients in the banking domain.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on development experience, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for building and managing modern, scalable technology applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain high-quality backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Design and develop scalable microservices-based applications.
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and production-ready code.
- Work closely with technical teams, architects, and stakeholders to deliver project requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and application improvements.
- Work with containerized and cloud-native technologies, including Kubernetes.
- Ensure applications meet performance, security, reliability, and scalability standards.

Required Technical Skills
- 8–12 years of strong Java development experience
- Java 17 or above
- Spring / Spring Boot
- Microservices architecture
- GitLab
- Kubernetes
- Oracle Database
- ActiveMQ
- Strong hands-on coding skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience working in banking/financial services is highly desirable
