Java Engineer
I’m working with a leading global financial technology firm specialising in electronic FX trading, who are expanding their engineering team in London and looking for talented Core Java Engineers.
This is an opportunity to work on high-performance, mission-critical trading technology used within the global FX market.
You’ll be joining a highly technical engineering environment, building and enhancing systems where performance, reliability and scalability are critical.
The role:
- Develop high-performance applications using Core Java
- Work on technology supporting electronic FX trading and execution
- Design and build scalable, resilient systems handling high volumes of market data and transactions
- Solve complex engineering challenges around concurrency, performance and distributed systems
- Work closely with other engineers, product teams and financial market specialists
- Contribute to system architecture and technical direction
- Continuously improve the performance, scalability and reliability of the platform

What they're looking for:
- Strong commercial experience with Core Java
- Excellent understanding of data structures, algorithms and object-oriented design
- Strong knowledge of multithreading and concurrency
- Experience building high-performance, scalable systems
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and software architecture
- Experience with messaging, networking or event-driven systems would be beneficial
- Previous experience within FX, trading or financial markets is advantageous
