Java Software Engineer
I’m currently working with a major UK financial services organisation that is looking to bring in experienced Java Contractors to support a number of key technology programmes.
This is a great opportunity for a strong Java Engineer to work on large-scale, business-critical platforms, developing modern services within a highly engineering-focused environment.
The role:
- Develop and enhance production systems using Java & Spring Boot
- Build and maintain scalable, resilient microservices
- Work within modern API and event-driven architectures
- Contribute to technical design, development and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with experienced engineers, architects and product teams
- Write clean, well-tested and maintainable code
- Work on systems operating at significant scale within a complex financial environment

What they're looking for:
- Strong commercial experience with Java
- Excellent Spring Boot experience
- Strong understanding of microservices and REST APIs
- Good knowledge of multithreading, concurrency and core Java
- Experience with testing, CI/CD and modern development practices
- Experience working within large-scale or enterprise environments
- Financial services experience is beneficial but not essential

More information:
- Up to £750p/d inside IR35
- 6 months initial
- 2 days a week in London, 3 days a week WFH
