Java Developer – Airline, Payments & Hospitality

Location: London, UK
Work Model: Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite per week
Employment Type: Permanent

Role Overview

We are currently hiring Java Developers for multiple permanent opportunities in London across the Airline, Payments, Travel, and Hospitality domains.

We are looking for candidates at different experience levels, from Entry Level (1–2 years) to Mid-Level/Regular (3–5 years).

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Java backend development, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, databases, and cloud technologies, along with relevant experience in either the Airline + Payment or Hospitality/Travel domain.

    • Experience: 1–2 years
    • Domain: Airline/Aviation + Payments
  • Java Developer – Mid-Level/Regular | Hospitality

    • Experience: 3–5 years
    • Domain: Hospitality/Travel

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain backend applications using Java.
  • Develop scalable and maintainable microservices and REST APIs.
  • Work with relational databases and SQL, with Oracle experience preferred.
  • Integrate internal and third-party systems through APIs and event-driven architectures.
  • Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines following DevOps best practices.
  • Work with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Develop secure, scalable, and resilient distributed applications.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, architects, and other engineering teams.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies and engineering best practices.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java.
  • Spring Boot / Spring Framework.
  • REST APIs / Web Services.
  • Microservices architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL/RDBMS; Oracle is preferred.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  • Good understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and resilience.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
  • Experience with Git and modern software development practices.

Desirable Skills

  • Kafka or other messaging/event-driven technologies.
  • MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
  • Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
  • Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
  • Monitoring and observability tools.
  • Automated testing / TDD.
  • Experience with payment integrations or payment gateways.

Domain Experience – Mandatory

We are specifically looking for candidates with relevant industry experience.

For Airline + Payment positions:

  • Airline/Aviation/Travel industry experience.
  • Payment industry experience.
  • Exposure to payment processing, payment gateways, payment systems, or payment integrations.
  • Experience with airline operational or travel platforms is highly desirable.

For Hospitality position:

  • Hospitality/Hotel/Travel/Tourism industry experience.
  • Experience with hospitality technology solutions such as:
    • Central Reservation Systems (CRS)
    • Property Management Systems (PMS)
    • Hotel/Reservation/Booking platforms
    • Hospitality payment systems
    • Payment gateways
    • Holiday/Travel booking platforms

Candidate Requirements

  • Candidates must already have the right to work in the UK. No visa sponsorship is available.
  • Candidates should be available to start from the 3rd week of September 2026.
  • Candidates with 2–3 month notice periods will not be considered.
  • Must be willing to work 2–3 days per week onsite in London.
  • Salary expectations should be aligned with the relevant role and experience.
  • Exceptional candidates with highly relevant Airline or Hospitality domain experience may be considered slightly above the stated salary range.
