Java Software Engineer
We’re working with a leading technology business within the iGaming, sports betting, and lottery space, looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join their Sports engineering team.
This is a great opportunity for a strong hands-on Java developer who enjoys mentoring others, taking technical ownership, and helping drive engineering standards, without necessarily wanting to step away from the code.
What you’ll be doing:
- Developing and delivering high-quality backend software
- Working closely with Product and Engineering teams across the SDLC
- Mentoring and supporting other engineers
- Championing engineering best practices and continuous improvement
- Taking ownership of technical delivery and helping remove blockers
- Contributing to a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture

What we’re looking for:
- Strong commercial experience with Java & Spring Boot
- Experience with technologies such as AWS, Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Solid backend/software engineering fundamentals
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting less experienced developers
- Someone who remains hands-on and technically strong
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
