Java Developer – Sports betting Hedge fund – London

Job Summary
A couple of Java Developers are required for an exciting and progressive Sports betting Hedge fund Company with offices in London and Leeds. You will be joining a tight-knit team of research mathematicians, computer scientists, and trading analysts at the top of their chosen fields.
The role would suit candidates with a minimum of 1+ years experience and significant part of childhood spent hacking away in 8-bit assembly language. The successful candidates will be working closely with the quantitative researchers and alongside other extremely talented and driven engineers to build and support systematic trading models.

As Java Developer you will need:
- 1st class or 2:1 from Oxbridge Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Statistics, Physics.
- 1+ years in Java development in a professional capacity
- Some of the technologies you can expect to be working with are: Java, Kafka, AMQ, Kubernetes, AWS, MongoDB.
- Exposure to Kafka, AMQ, or a similar messaging/streams based technology
- Familiar with event-driven design patterns and microservice architecture
- You’ve worked on large scale, distributed systems that operate with large volumes of data.
- You are a natural problem solver and enjoy challenging yourself
