Java Software Engineer - Liverpool 1dpw - up to £70,000
Exalto Consulting are currently recruiting for a permanent Java Software Engineer to work for a fantastic organisation, paying up to £70,000 basic salary depending on experience and benefits, looking for someone willing to go to site 1 day per week in Liverpool. In this role you will also gain the opportunity to upskill to new technologies (React Native, Azure, and SharePoint).
Essential skills and experience
- Strong backend development experience using Java and Spring, including working with large or mature codebases.
- Experience deploying and managing Java applications on Apache Tomcat and/or IBM WebSphere application servers.
- Demonstrable experience with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.
- Strong understanding of web performance, accessibility (WCAG), and responsive design principles.
- Solid experience across the testing landscape, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using tools such as Jest, Detox, Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, JUnit, and Mockito — with a strong commitment to test-driven development.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git)

- Experience working within Agile or cross-functional delivery teams.
