We are partnering with an innovative technology company that develops high-performance software solutions supporting real-time data processing and mission-critical applications. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team.
The Opportunity
You will play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining scalable backend systems within a fast-paced environment. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will contribute to the development of highly available applications that process large volumes of data while maintaining exceptional performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java.
- Write clean, maintainable and efficient code following best practice principles.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts and stakeholders to deliver new features and enhancements.
- Troubleshoot production issues and identify opportunities for system improvements.
- Optimise application performance, scalability and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the software development lifecycle.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience developing applications in Java.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices.
- Experience with Spring Framework and associated technologies.
- Knowledge of multithreading and concurrent programming concepts.
- Experience using Git and modern version control practices.
- Understanding of CI/CD processes and automated deployment pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Desirable Experience
- Experience working on high-throughput, low-latency systems.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and microservice architectures.
- Exposure to cloud-based environments.
- Knowledge of JavaScript or modern web technologies.
- Experience working in data-driven or performance-sensitive environments.
