About the Job you are considering:
Join Capgemini’s Financial Services Business Unit within the C&CA (Cloud & Custom Applications) practice as a Senior Software Engineer. This is an opportunity to Consult with Purpose by delivering innovative, scalable solutions that help clients solve complex business challenges and unlock value through intelligent technology. You will work as a trusted, AI-fluent engineering professional, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to continuously evolve enterprise platforms and business capabilities. As part of a future-focused practice, you will help Architect Tomorrow by combining strong software engineering expertise with a passion for innovation, automation, and delivering meaningful outcomes for clients.
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality software solutions that enhance business performance, operational efficiency, and user experience.
- Design and implement scalable application architectures that support evolving business and customer needs.
- Develop secure, reliable, and maintainable services that enable long-term business value.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, shape solutions, and ensure successful delivery outcomes.
- Embed intelligent automation and AI-driven capabilities within business processes to improve productivity and decision-making.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards, development practices, and delivery excellence.
- Participate in peer reviews, testing activities, troubleshooting, and performance improvements to maintain high-quality solutions.
- Promote security, resilience, scalability, and compliance throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Support the successful release and operation of applications through effective collaboration across delivery teams.
- Actively contribute to building a future-ready workforce by sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues, and embracing emerging technologies and AI-enabled ways of working.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Java.
- Hands-on experience designing and building scalable distributed and microservices-based solutions.
- Proficiency in Python application development.
- Strong expertise in relational database development, query optimisation, performance tuning, and data modelling.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful services and integrating with enterprise systems.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, application architecture, and secure development practices.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to analyse complex business problems and deliver practical, high-quality solutions.
- Experience applying AI and machine learning concepts to business applications.
- Understanding of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, prompt engineering, and model integration patterns.
- Experience integrating AI-powered services and capabilities into enterprise solutions.
- Awareness of emerging AI technologies and a commitment to continuous learning and innovation.

Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Hibernate.
- Experience with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, and database performance optimisation.
- Knowledge of Git, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar AI frameworks.
- Experience with vector database technologies such as Pinecone, FAISS, ChromaDB, or Weaviate.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Knowledge of Kafka, event-driven architectures, and messaging platforms.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Exposure to Machine Learning frameworks and MLOps concepts.
