Java Developer – Active eDV Clearance
📍 Location: Cheltenham
💰 Day Rate: £600–£650 per day
📅 Contract: 12 months
🔐 Active Enhanced DV (eDV) clearance is essential
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Java Developer to join a highly secure government programme delivering critical capabilities across the UK National Security sector. You’ll be joining an experienced engineering team working on mission-critical technology, developing secure, scalable backend solutions within a highly restricted environment.

- Developing and enhancing Java-based backend services
- Designing and building secure, scalable applications
- Working with microservices architectures
- Developing and integrating RESTful APIs
- Collaborating with engineers, architects and key stakeholders
- Working within an Agile delivery environment
- Supporting technology with a direct impact on UK national security capabilities
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Active Enhanced DV (eDV) clearance
- Strong commercial Java development experience
- Previous experience within secure, government or national security environments
- Experience working with microservices
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and backend services
- Agile development experience
