Our clients are looking for a Java Support Engineer to join their team.
About You & The Role
Our clients are looking for an analytical and proactive Java Support Engineer to join our dynamic production support team. Sitting at the intersection of development and operations, you will be pivotal in maintaining core application stability, troubleshooting complex microservices, and driving system reliability across cloud platforms. You will work alongside cross-functional engineering, infrastructure, and delivery teams to optimise application health and automate operational workflows.

What Experience We Are Looking For:
- Strong hands-on technical troubleshooting across application layers, logs, and infrastructure.
- Core familiarity with Java, JavaScript, and debugging APIs or microservices architectures.
- Exposure to cloud platforms, with a good working understanding of AWS environment structures.
- Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and basic scripting (Python, Shell, or PowerShell).
- An operational mindset eager to explore containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
Some Things You'll Be Working On
- Incident & Problem Resolution: Owning and resolving P1–P3 application incidents within SLA, conducting root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring bugs, and providing production fixes or workarounds.
- Environment & Change Delivery: Managing and maintaining non-production environment availability, executing approved change tickets, and supporting release deployments.
- Monitoring & Observability: Enhancing system monitoring, alerting thresholds, and telemetry to proactively protect service stability and reduce downtime.
- Shift Left & Automation: Automating routine, repeatable tasks to transition operational workloads to L1/L2 teams, authoring clear runbooks, and mentoring junior peers.
