Salary: Up to £80,000 + Benefits

Location: Wembley - Fully On-site

Type: Permanent

We're looking for an experienced Java Technical Lead to lead the development of modern, cloud-native applications and drive engineering best practices across a talented software team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of enterprise-grade Java applications using Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
  • Define and champion engineering best practices, coding standards, security principles, and quality assurance processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, supporting engineers in their professional growth and technical capability.
  • Conduct code reviews, identify technical debt, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with solution architects and stakeholders to translate high-level designs into scalable, production-ready solutions.
  • Ensure applications are built for cloud-native deployment, containerisation, and modern platform architectures.
  • Promote a strong automated testing culture across unit, integration, and contract testing.
  • Support the delivery of reliable CI/CD pipelines and contribute to deployment strategy and engineering processes.
  • Drive the adoption of secure development practices, observability, monitoring, and operational excellence.

  • Strong expertise in Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
  • Proven experience with REST APIs, OAuth2, and event-driven systems.
  • Experience with Azure services, including Key Vault, Storage, and Service Bus.
  • Strong understanding of Docker, containerisation, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Passion for code quality, testing, and engineering excellence.
