IntaPeople have 4 Java roles with a fintech scaleup in Cardiff due to internal promotions.
The team have some agentic workflows set up in Claude, so a background with agentic coding and GenAI would be ideal. Hands on experience with Java (Ideally 25) building APIs and microservices with Spring Boot is essential.
Role 1 - Engineering Team Lead 75-90k
This is a people leadership role where you will be managing 6-8 engineers. Your role will be focused on developing your team, setting goals, and helping them to achieve milestones. You will be working on greenfield projects and although this is not a hands-on coding role, you will need to be able to write code when required. You really enjoy getting the best out of your team, you understand that different people respond better to different strategies, and you pride yourself on your ability to help each individual develop their skills. You are an experienced engineer with a background in technical leadership, and you are able to hit the road running within an Engineering Team Lead position.

Role 2 - Java Tech Lead 78-93k
This role is hands-on and focused on driving technical direction; there are no people leadership responsibilities involved. You will be working on greenfield projects where you can influence and improve the technical health of the product, whilst being trusted to make major technical decisions. You have proven experience of setting technical direction and driving innovation. You take ownership of driving a product and taking it to the next level.

Role 3 - Senior Java Engineer within Agentic AI 68-81k
This role is within a new, leaner team and will be leveraging AI to build new features from scratch. This role was initially utilizing Cursor for AI model development, but they have since moved to Claude AI with some agentic workflows already set up. This role requires a solid Java background as well as experience of agentic coding.
Role 4 - Senior Java Engineer within Product Engineering 68-81k
This role is focused on feature delivery within product engineering. We’re looking for an established Senior Software Engineer who enjoys coaching and mentoring juniors, helping them develop their skills to progress within their careers.
