About The Role

We are seeking an experienced JavaScript Developer specializing in React and TypeScript to join our dynamic team at Ncounter. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and developing modern, secure, and user-centric web applications tailored for complex operational environments. Your work will directly support critical missions in law enforcement, public safety, and government sectors, where accessibility, security, and data utilization are paramount. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of consultants, architects, and engineers, contributing from initial discovery and prototyping phases through to the deployment of production-ready solutions.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a variety of projects that have tangible impacts on public safety and operational efficiency. You will be involved in integrating applications with enterprise platforms, APIs, and authentication services, ensuring seamless and secure user experiences. Additionally, you will produce prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions to test innovative ideas, participate in code reviews, and uphold engineering standards within a fast-paced, consultancy environment. Your contributions will help shape the future of digital services within the public sector, making this a highly impactful and rewarding role.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in front-end development, with proven experience working with React and TypeScript in a commercial setting. A solid understanding of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS fundamentals is essential, including responsive and accessible design principles. Experience in building secure applications and integrating frontend services with REST APIs and authentication mechanisms is highly desirable. Candidates should have a good grasp of modern development practices, including version control with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library.

Experience working within consultancy environments, especially those involving government, law enforcement, or similarly complex sectors, will be considered a significant advantage. Familiarity with technologies such as Redux, React Router, Tailwind CSS, Docker, and data visualization tools will further strengthen your application. Candidates must also be eligible for UK Security Clearance, as this role involves working on sensitive and secure government projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications utilizing React, TypeScript, and JavaScript, ensuring high standards of security, accessibility, and performance.
  • Create dynamic dashboards, data-rich interfaces, and intuitive user journeys tailored to complex operational needs.
  • Collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and shape practical, innovative solutions.
  • Integrate applications with REST APIs, authentication services such as Entra ID, MSAL, or Keycloak, and enterprise platforms to ensure seamless data flow and security.
  • Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions to validate ideas and support consultancy engagements, facilitating early-stage testing and feedback.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD processes to uphold engineering standards and ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices, documentation, and team knowledge sharing.
