About The Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Software Engineer to join our innovative development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that support our talent acquisition platform. You will work within an agile environment that emphasizes continuous improvement, test-driven development, and collaborative problem-solving. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about adopting new technologies, questioning existing processes, and contributing to a culture of transparency and shared knowledge.
This position offers the opportunity to work remotely or from one of our offices located in London, Berlin, or Bilbao. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to deliver features that make a real impact on our users. Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and experience with modern development practices. Our backend infrastructure primarily utilizes Node.js, with some components in Ruby and Go, while the frontend leverages Pixi.js for Canvas and WebGL rendering. Familiarity with automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment processes is essential. Candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply, provided they demonstrate a keen interest in software craftsmanship and a willingness to learn new technologies.
Additional Qualifications Include
- At least 2 years of experience working in an agile or XP environment, with a preference for experience in TDD and refactoring.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude towards learning and improvement.
- Experience with automated deployment tools such as Ansible is a plus.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include developing scalable and maintainable software solutions, participating in code reviews, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our development processes. You will work closely with product teams to understand requirements and translate them into high-quality code, ensuring that features are delivered on time and meet our standards for performance and reliability.
Specific Duties Include
- Designing and implementing new features for our talent acquisition platform.
- Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Participating in pair programming sessions and collaborative design discussions.
- Engaging in automated testing and continuous integration activities to ensure software quality.
- Identifying areas for improvement within existing systems and proposing innovative solutions.
- Contributing to a culture of radical transparency, knowledge sharing, and mutual support.
