Job Opportunity: Catering Assistant – JCA Condover Hall
Location: Condover Hall, Shrewsbury
Contract Type: Part Time or Full Time Seasonal from now to October 2026, includes weekends and early/late shifts
Reports To: Restaurant Manager

The Role: Catering Assistant
As a Catering Assistant, you’ll support our catering team with the preparation and service of meals for guests and staff. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in catering or hospitality, offering the chance to work in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and attention to detail are essential. You’ll be expected to work a variety of shifts including some weekends, typically shifts are between 6:15 a.m.–2:45 p.m. or 11:15 a.m.–7:45 p.m.

Key Responsibilities
Food Service & Preparation
- Serve meals to guests and staff.
- Assist with basic food preparation (e.g., cereals, salad bar, drinks).
- Store and rotate food correctly in line with HACCP regulations.
Cleanliness & Safety
- Maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas, including trays, bins, and floors.
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene procedures at all times.
- Follow all Allergen procedures
Team Support
- Assist with unpacking and storing deliveries.
- Support other departments (e.g., housekeeping) during busy periods.
- Greeting guests in the Canteen
Essential Skills & Experience
- An interest in catering and/or hospitality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Hard-working with a genuine desire to make our guests happy
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting is desirable but not essential.

The recruitment process

We are required to obtain references and a Basic or Enhanced DBS check prior to employment (we cover the cost and organise it for you). You will be required to provide referee details and a selection of ID documents such as a Passport or Full Birth Certificate.
